Sure, the 360 has been having a good run over here, but it didn't even make a dent in Japan until the release of Blue Dragon, an actual Japanese-bred role-playing game made by bigwigs like Producer Hironobu Sakaguchi (the father of Final Fantasy), artist Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball Z), and composer Nobuo Uematsu (the father of FF's music). With that power trio behind it, Blue Dragon looks like a fine fusion of old-school and modern RPG mechanics, which includes turn-based battles (old school!) but no random skirmishes (new hotness!).

If you thought Bulma Adventure 2 was the height of lewd Dragon Ball stuff, Kame Paradise says hi! I am a massive fan of Dragon Ball so any game that pokes fun of that or takes a lewd approach to characters I know and love is always going to grab my attention. I get that some people do not like to see their beloved characters like this, but I thought it was pretty damn funny.

The writing here is pretty fun stuff and I always get a kick out of how these games are clearly written by people who are fans of the series. I liked how the game seemed to take stuff from all eras of Dragon Ball so no matter your preference I am sure there will be something here that appeals to you.

The Best Of Both Worlds

The visuals are pretty damn solid. While some may think this is yet another RPG Maker style of game, I do feel that Kame Paradise does enough of its own things to stand out. What really grabbed my attention here was the size of the characters. These sprites are kind of chunky and they perfectly capture their animated counterparts. I feel that the game is going for a 16-bit Super Nintendo style of visuals, but it is more like the 32-bit PlayStation era as they are so high quality.We all know seeing some of the hottest Dragon Ball ladies get naked and nailed is what these games are all about and in that regard, this game does not disappoint. It is worth noting that there is a censored version of the game and an uncensored version out there so be sure to get the one that interests you.

Rock, Paper, Scissors

The easiest way to describe the game is that it is an RPG, but it is a very basic RPG. You go around the world as Goku and Master Roshi and you get to talk to ladies and other characters and eventually, you will get into a fight. These fights are not what you would expect from an RPG, but if you have played the Bulma’s Adventure games, you will know what is happening. The combat in this game is all about chance, it is a rock, paper, scissors deal, similar to what the Alex Kid games did back in the day.

Exploring the world is kind of fun, even more so if you are a fan of the Dragon Ball series. I do feel that the gameplay is so simple, that you must be a fan of the series in order to truly appreciate what this game is trying to do.

I had a fair bit of fun with Kame Paradise and feel it is a great addition to Bulma Adventure. If you liked that game, you are going to like this. On the flip side of that, if Bulma Adventure did not win you over, I do not think this will. The premise is funny, the lewdness is great and overall, if you like Dragon Ball, I am sure you will get some enjoyment out of this. So, DB fans, be sure to take a closer look at this game.
