Rockwell Master Disk Activation

The rocksoft.ini file can be opened and edited with notepad, when you have done it will look something like this Common Path=C: Program Files Rockwell Software,C: Program Files Rockwell Software RSCommon KEYDISK=FALSE CHECKDRIVES=H Applications RSLinx=C: Program Files Rockwell Software RSLinx RSLinx.exe ps the KEYDISK=FALSE stops activation looking on the floppy drive first, this prevents that annoying floppy drive rattle when you start Rockwell stuff.

  • FTA needs something with a serial number/thumbprint that it can recognize. Two options are hard drives and network cards. However, Rockwell will also sell you a USB stick that strictly contains a serial number (no storage). You can link FTA to the USB stick. Then whichever machine has the USB stick has the license.
  • Upgrading your old floppy disk activation (EVRSI) to the current FactoryTalk Activation (FTA) Here are 2 procedures for updating your Rockwell Software activations: For 10 or less software packages the quickest route is to call the activation hotline (440-646-5800 direct dial code 010).
Hi All,
I upgraded RSLogix 500 5.xx to 9.05. I have a general SanDisk jump drive that had several AB activations on it. I have used EVMOVE on this jump drive without any issues from time to time(I don't have a lot of AB controllers). When I went to move the RSLogix 500 activation to use 9.05, I got an error message 'Error reading activation file' and all the activations that were there are gone. I see a lot of talk out there regarding the EVRSI.sys file attributes and unfortunately it is no where to be found on the jump drive or PC I was attempting to make the move to. All hidden folders and files are accessible BTW. Any thoughts on what may have happened, or where these activations may live now? Thanks.
I am new to this web site so I will try to be brief, please do not tell me to buy a legit copy etc.
Rockwell Master Disk ActivationI have worked with Logix based software most of my life.
Early on I received a key that was on a USB stick that allowed me to transfer the key onto my notebook. RSLOGIX5000 V19 on a 64-bit operating system. (enabled the key software to run as an administrator and then transfer as XP compatible) No problems the software ran fine for 1 year (I do own a legitimate key as this was purchased software).
Anyway along comes version V20 and it has Factory Talk activation V3.5 when I installed this I now have to register my software on the internet to allow this to work.

Rockwell master disk activation downloadI lost V19 as the Activation is now controlled by Factory Talk.
Rockwell Master Disk ActivationAfter removing all the RSLogix software and re-installing RSLOGIX5000 V19 I am left with the following conclusion.

Don't bother with RSLOGIX5000 V20
and
If Factory Talk Activation can be left at V3.2 (came with V19) then perhaps RSLOGIX5000 V20 can run with the same key.Rockwell Master Disk Activation
Maybe I am barking up the wrong tree.
